Easily the best game of the day, the only surprise being how long it took Barca to turn it round.

Just as the teams were about to enter the pitch there was a heated discussion taking place on the sidelines. Apparently, one of the teams had a player listed who had received a yellow card in each of the first two games, so should be serving a one match suspension. Thankfully it was sorted just in time, or the rest of the day’s schedule  would have had to be changed.

This was day 4 of the competition and a change of venue to Moneygram Park a 120 acre site owned by the City of Dallas. There are 19 pitches here, 14 of them full size, with the Dallas Cup taking place on Pitches 1-10. As with Richland College, I will have to see how the schedules pan out as to which ones I am able to see a match on.

The first thing to note is how every pitch is in immaculate condition. Again, there is top class organisation, but unlike at Richland College, the catering here is from mobile food wagons, one doing standard American fayre, another doing Mexican and the third doing an excellent selection of Thai food, which I can certainly recommend. All three were also reasonably priced.

So, onto the first match, where Knowsley were always on top and Elgin lost any chance they had when they had a man sent off after 42 minutes. To cap off a bad day they had a second red card in the last minute.
